Miguel Zau, known by his stage name MZ Smoothboy, is a talented musician, producer, and sound engineer, originally performing simply as MZ. Born in the Ingombotas district of Luanda, Angola, MZ Smoothboy comes from Bakongo roots, tracing his heritage back to Soyo. In 2004, after the passing of his father, he moved to Windhoek, Namibia, with his family, a life-changing move that sparked his deep love for music.

MZ Smoothboy is more than just a musician—his work is driven by purpose and artistry, with a catalog of impactful collaborations with some of the biggest names in African music. During his years in Namibia, MZ made a name for himself by producing award-winning albums and tracks, working with notable artists like Gazza, Bertholdt Mbinda, and Lady May, and with CMC on the album Tudo Por Tudo. Returning to Angola in 2016, MZ achieved significant recognition through his production and feature in the 2017 hit O Tal (Sou Teu Moço) by Landrick and NGA. in 2019 he became an official Influencer and brand representative of Jameson Angola under the prestige company Pernod Ricard.

Desde então, ele tem sido fundamental em grandes projetos de música lusófona, incluindo Gimme Me Love de Rui Orlando (com Florito e Showtime) e Gerilson Insrael & Rema’s Dance. MZ também produziu para Rui Orlando (O Que Eu Não Fiz), Landrick (Nhe Nhe), Deezy com Duc (Voltas), Mauro Pastrana (Não Me Apetece), Young Double com Lil Saint & Rui Orlando (Tarde Demais), Seu trabalho recente inclui mixagem e masterização do hit Accelerate de Florito & C4 Pedro.
